Oblivio Mentis is a two-person indie game development team focused on creating atmospheric 2D games built around exploration, movement, combat, and interconnected worlds.
Our team consists of:
Alina — Game Design & Narrative
Sasha — Programming & Technical Design
We are building our games independently, combining game design, narrative, programming, prototyping, level design, gameplay systems, and all the other parts required to turn an idea into a playable world.
We are especially interested in games where exploration is an important part of the gameplay itself.
We enjoy designing interconnected locations, movement mechanics, combat systems, enemies, bosses, unlockable abilities, and mechanics that gradually change how the player interacts with the world.
Our main development environment is Unity, and our current focus is on 2D games, particularly metroidvanias and other exploration-driven projects.
Alongside our main project, we also participate in game jams. They give us an opportunity to experiment with smaller ideas, prototype unusual mechanics, and create self-contained games outside the scope of our main production.
Mind Your Mindness is our main project — a 2D metroidvania currently in development in Unity.
The game is built around exploration of a large interconnected world, combat, movement, discovery, and acquiring new abilities that gradually open previously inaccessible areas and create new ways to interact with the environment.
We want progression to be reflected not only in numbers, but primarily in what the player is actually capable of doing.
New abilities expand traversal and combat possibilities, allow the player to reach new locations, discover alternative routes, overcome previously impossible obstacles, and approach familiar areas from a different perspective.
Combat is another major part of the project. We are developing a system with different enemies, attack patterns, behaviors, encounters, and bosses designed around their own mechanics rather than simply increased health and damage.
The world of Mind Your Mindness is mysterious, strange, and sometimes unsettling. We want exploration itself to create questions about the places, characters, and events the player encounters without explaining everything immediately.
The project is still in active development, and many parts of the game — visuals, locations, mechanics, enemies, animations, audio, and overall presentation — will continue to evolve.
Mind Your Mindness does not have a Steam page yet.
We plan to create one later in development.
When the Steam page becomes available, the link will appear here.
STEAM PAGE — COMING LATER
We share development progress, gameplay experiments, new mechanics, game jam projects, and other updates about our games across our social platforms.
False Awakening is a short metroidvania created for Maxter’s JAM 2026.
Trapped inside a recurring nightmare, the player explores strange locations, fights enemies, unlocks new abilities, and tries to survive a series of deadly escapes.
Death sends you back, but the knowledge you gain stays with you. Pay attention to the signs scattered throughout the world — understanding them may be the key to finally escaping the nightmare.
Coming soon.
Project page will be added here when the game is ready.
